Other Considerations To Take Into Account

Electric forklifts are powered by large lead-acid batteries, similar to in your car, but much larger.
The battery generally provides for one standard 8- hour shift, about 5 or 6 hours of constant use.
Electric have a lower running cost per hour, are quieter in operation and do not omit emissions,
therefore perfect for running indoors.

Internal combustion (diesel or LPG) forklifts have the benefit of being refueled ‘on the fly’,
ie: fill it up or change the gas bottle and it’s ready to continue working.
Internal combustion forklifts are capable of handling the largest loads, ie: larger than 15,000 lbs capacity.
LPG and diesel forklifts can be used indoors in well ventilated areas with appropriate exhaust emission purifiers where applicable.

Tyre requirements:
Cushion tyres: are made from solid rubber, are best suited to indoors.
Pneumatic tyres: are inflated with compressed air, are better for out doors.
Solid pneumatic tyres: are recommended for timber yards or recycling centre,
(or any location the tyres may be punctured regularly).

Attachments:
Forklifts can have attachments added to better tailor to your requirements.
Know what your fork will be lifting, ie: rolls of cable, pick up of items not on pallets etc.

Sideshift:
This option allows the operator to move the load left and right without moving the truck,
allowing precise placement of loads.

Tilt Mast:
The ability to tilt the mast and forks forward and back greatly simplifies loading the forklift on uneven ground.
It gives greater stability while moving a loaded forklift.
