Battery Repairs


All Lift forklift have fully qualified technicians that can determine whether your battery can be repaired, or needs replacing. Single or multiple cells in batteries may require replacing; therefore the cost may be lessened as you will not require the full battery to be replaced.


Battery Recovery


Battery recovery, which All Lift Forklifts can perform, may also be a solution. Batteries that have not been used for a long time, or have not been charged correctly, can be restored to good working condition.  This, once again is at a fraction of the cost of replacing the battery.


Take Care Of Your Battery


Battery maintenance is very important. This is easily forgotten, or misunderstood, and can contribute to the forklifts battery life. Batteries are expensive to replace, therefore proper maintenance and care is necessary to lengthen the life span of your forklift and battery. Following the procedures below will assist with the correct battery maintenance procedure.


 Battery Charging And Maintenance Key Points


  1. Batteries not to be discharged below 20% as indicated on the battery gauge.
  2. Maximum discharge level is 80%.
  3. Always charge battery with lid open to prevent build-up of hydrogen gas and to allow battery to cool.
  4. Do not interrupt charge cycle, allow charger to complete charge.
  5. Never give batteries a short charge during lunch or breaks.
  6. Allow battery to cool down after charge before using in truck (2 – 4 hours).
  7. Immediately charge a discharged battery, do not leave a flat battery to stand.
  8. Water batteries using distilled or de-ionized water at least once a week.
  9. Water batteries as soon as possible after full charge, never before charge.
  10. Always monitor battery while filling, watch for spillage or over filling.
  11. Unplug battery from truck if leaving for a prolonged period.
  12. Keep top of battery clear and cell covers clean.
  13. Battery killers are – over discharge, low water, heat and excessive vibration.


Second Shift Battery Usage 


  1. Rotate batteries, replace flat battery in truck and charge spare battery.
  2. Leave spare battery plugged into charger until needed, this allows for equalize charge.
  3. Only charge battery in truck if spare battery has completed charge.
